Chasing 49 Films
Since our conception, we have travelled the US each spring telling stories about the US Super Slam and the men and women who pursue it. Our story is one of friendship, passion, and a drive to see the wild and remote locations the Wild Turkey Calls home. We do what we do because we love the Wild Turkey, we want to share knowledge to see the Wild Turkey thrive, and we embrace all aspects of the hunting opportunities they provide.
It is our hope that our work with the Chasing 49 brand inspires you, that you watch our films and consume the associated content, and in that, that we move folks to both pursue the Wild Turkey and the conservation and management of the species.

One mans odyssey with the wild turkey
Tom “Doc” Weddle is a legend in many turkey hunt circles. Doc is one of the few folks to complete multiple US Slams. His story begins in the 1980s and spans through to now. Each spring he spends the entire spring traveling the country in his minivan working his way across the country in search of turkeys. Doc is one of one and we hope ya’ll find his story as inspiring as we did.

The Story of the Goulds turkey
Through the efforts of Arizona Game and Fish, the US Forest Service, the Centro Ecologico de Sonora, the NWTF, and a variety of other partners, the Gould’s has made a comeback to the sky islands of Arizona. With original transplants coming from Mexico in the 1980s, the Gould’s restoration story embodies the spirit of conservation and ingenuity that we need in today’s climate. Despite tremendous obstacles, the program has been a resounding success due to the hard work of state and federal agencies, NWTF volunteers, and private citizens.
